Horacio Pagani, the founder and the chapter of the same company, told journalists at the end of January that a successor of the supercar Pagani Zonda, recently tested in Southern Africa will appear on the market this year.

Set near the Kalahari desert, the Pagani C9 is being put through the paces in hot weather conditions reaching almost +39°C. The mule is clearly a Pagani, possibly in the body of a Zonda F, with large wheel arches, arch-mounted side mirrors, split headlights, and an F1-style nose. When it is released, the Pagani C9 will burst off the line with a 700 PS (690 PS / 515 kW) 6.0-liter V12 engine from Mercedes AMG. The engine is expected to produce up to 1000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque for incredible sprints.

Annual production of the car should be kept at 40 units. The Pagani C9 is poised to replace the Pagani Zonda when it launches later this year with a €900,000 price tag.
