BMW produces an "electrician" Mini E

BMW has presented a coupe Mini E with the electric motor. A debut of the novelty will take place at the November motor show in Los Angeles.
The car will be equipped with the electric motor, 204 hp of capacity with the torque 220 nm that allows the car accelerating up to a "hundred" only in 8,5 seconds. The maximal speed of the hatchback is 152 km/h, and fuel distance is 240 km. Batteries are made of 5088 cells and grouped in 48 blocks which are placed in 3 compartments of the car. Their general capacity equals 35 kw-h. A plenty of accumulators has compelled designers to refuse concept's rear row of seats, but, probably, the hatchback will be four-seater in a batch production.
The novelty is equipped with the system allowing charging accumulators while braking, thus produced energy is enough for 50 kilometers of run. The car is equipped with a suspension readjusted in comparison with the petrol version, and novelty's weight has been increased by 400 kgs because of batteries and reached 1,465 kgs.
At the beginning BMW plans produce 500 copies of Mini E that will be sent to private clients in some cities of the USA. They will be made at factories in Oxford and Munich.
The price for Mini E is not yet informed.
